Places to Go, Vacations and More

Some entertainment is indoors. Some is outdoors. With “Places to Go, Vacations and More”, you may experience a little of each.

For instance, if you go to the St. Paul Rodeo, in St. Paul Oregon, you may see this carousel, which is outdoors.

At the St. Paul Rodeo, we saw a brilliant metallic looking blue seahorse with a saddle, which moves up and down, while the merry go round goes round and round.
This is an outdoors carousel that was set up and running at the fairgrounds in St. Paul, Oregon, USA. Click here to read about the annual St. Paul Rodeo, with it’s carnival rides, foods and more.

If you go to Seaside Oregon, the carousel there is indoors.

On the floor of a carousel, in the Seaside Carousel Mall, is a giraffe that just stands and next to it is a pink and white ostrich which moves up and down, while the merry go round goes round and round.
This is an indoors carousel that is set up and running in the Seaside Carousel Mall – Seaside, Oregon, USA.
(there will be a story about Seaside Oregon in the near future)

For entertainment, you can go to places that cost you very little.

A sign exhibiting a silhouette style drawing of a pair of horses pulling two people in a wagon, is hanging outside of and is advertising the Boundary County Historical Museum.
This is the sign, just outside the entrance to the Boundary County Historical Museum.
Click here to read about the Boundary County Historical Museum – Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Many places you may want to see are free.

Here is a picture showing, at the top of the water in a manmade pond, a large sturgeon, likely bigger than seven feet long, swimming within three feet of a person.
This is a sturgeon that you could see up close and personal, if you go to the Bonneville Fish Hatchery.
Click here to read about the Bonneville Fish Hatchery – Cascade Locks, Oregon.

If you go to Cape Disappointment, in Ilwaco, Washington, you can walk on the trail. You will see trees, natural undergrowth, flowers, grasses, wildlife, cliffs, the beach, the ocean and a lighthouse (but parking in the parking lot where the path begins isn’t free).

What looks like a hidden cove (inlet), with it's mouth opening to the ocean as seen from the walking path on the way to the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse.
This is a cove as seen on the way, below the walking trail to the North Head Lighthouse.
Click here to read about the North Head lighthouse at Cape Disappointment in Ilwaco, Washington.

Food, What about Food. You’ve got to eat. Maybe you are looking for a great place to go, where you can enjoy a great meal too. The meal will definitely cost you something.

This is a picture of a staircase up, several tables where people will sit to eat a meal, a couple of antler chandeliers a huge central roof support beam and a large outdoors viewing window, as seen from inside the restaurant called Camp 18, which is in Elsie, Oregon, USA.
Camp 18 Restaurant has great food. Inside and outside of the restaurant there are so many interesting things to look at pertaining to logging and milling timber. There is even a walking path to walk off that meal if you like.
Click here to read about the Camp 18 Restaurant in Elsie Oregon,

Some things you may want to do come with a higher cost, but the things you get to see, no matter which you choose to see can be amazing.

Seen in this picture are three people riding on horseback in Alaska with heavy forest on both sides of a vehicle traveled, finely compacted dirt road they are following.
This is just one of five different excursions my youngest son and I went on, during an Alaskan Cruise. This excursion was two hours of Horseback riding in an Alaskan forest.
